Republic of Ireland

- Europe -

Ireland is full of cheer, dramatic coastal landscapes and iconic beers - it is the ideal destination for a fun-loving getaway.

The Republic of Ireland is a magical, enchanting place, with Cork and Dublin (the capital) standing out as must-see gems. The evocative landscapes are famous, particularly the unique and inimitable Cliffs of Moher, which tower 214 m above sea level. However, there is so much more to enjoy in Ireland, including luxury spas, unique cuisine, golf courses and pretty beaches.

The capital Dublin offers countless attractions: the fenced parks of Phoenix Park, the corridors of the prestigious Trinity College and the tormented history of the island on show at the former Kilmainham Gaol Penitentiary Institution, which is now a museum. One of the must-see stops during your vacation in Ireland is Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse, where you can learn how the Irish drink par excellence, Guinness, is made. After the tour, go up to the top floor of the building to admire a breathtaking panorama of the city. After, we recommend that you take a stroll through the streets of the Temple Bar district, which is full of lively bars and restaurants.

Cork is the second largest city in Ireland, despite its small size. Located on the southwest side of the island, in Cork County, it is an ideal starting point if you are looking for a vacation with a focus on nature. From Cork you can visit the villages of Cobh, Kinsale and Ballycotton; the first two are very colorful, and the third offers a spectacular coastal walk. For the best of nature near Cork, visit Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula – your trip will be unforgettable!

Another city popular with our customers is Galway, a port city where you can really breathe the spirit of Ireland. Smaller than the capital, it has managed to maintain its authenticity. Here, you can walk along cobbled pedestrian streets, home to hundreds of Irish pubs full of local food and traditional Irish music. We highly recommend taking a stroll from the 18th-century Eyre Square to the Spanish arches and through the Salmon Weir for a relaxing afternoon activity.

In addition to these places, Ireland is full of other fantastic places to visit. As a part of our customized travel service, we will take the time to understand what you want from your Ireland vacation and we will then suggest the best cities and attractions to visit.

- The popular locations of the Republic of Ireland -

Ireland is well-regarded for is coastal landscapes, especially the Cliffs of Moher. However, the Slieve League in County Donegal is also popular with those looking to admire dramatic sea views or relax in the horseshoe-shaped bay at nearby Malin Beg. If you are patient, you may be able to spot the local dolphins! Many of our customers also like to enjoy the Wild Atlantic Way on their vacation in Ireland. On this trail, Mount Errigal is very popular and offers lovely views across the valley, while Glenveagh National Park, which is home to Glenveagh Castle, features idyllic botanical gardens with thousands of plant species from all over the world.

For something unique and romantic, stop at the Fanad Head Lighthouse: it was voted one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world and is really worth a visit! The most suggestive and romantic point is the rocky point of Fanad Head, which is steeped in legend. The many castles of Ireland are also a wonderful treat on a romantic vacation, with Dunluce Castle and Blarney Castle (home to the famous Blarney Stone) being particularly popular. But surely nothing compares to the UNESCO-protected Giants Causeway. This stretch of coast features thousands of stone pillars, formed by lava following an ancient eruption about 60 million years ago. It is a unique natural wonder that you simply must not see on your Ireland vacation!

The Ring of Kerry is another must-see place in Ireland. Along the Kerry Way, which winds through bays and lagoons, you will encounter breathtaking landscapes, and this stretch is particularly popular with cyclists. If you choose to visit the route, stop at the wonderful Skellig Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a film set that featured in some Star Wars scenes.
